DIY - Fall Craft with the kids

You're going to have to bear with me for awhile, because I seem to be nesting like crazy! I don't know if it's because the weather is getting into hibernation, if it's because I love the fall decorations, if I can't stand my house, or what, but I have been trying to change decorations in my house. In an effort to do that, I have been looking for ways to Do-It-Yourself for inexpensive or cheaply. I thought I would share those ideas here, because I think that when you are trying to save money in anyway possible, that everyone should consider cheap ways to decorate.
This week, I was looking for some ways to do a craft with the kids, and was enjoying the fall colors, so I found this craft project, that turned out to be a great success with all four of my kids from 3 to 13 years old! We went out and found some leaves from Maple and Oak trees (science class!) and brought them in to do leaf rubbings on newspaper (is that science or art?). All of the kids loved doing this part. We needed a little more assistance with the 3 year old, but my Kindergartner loved this! He even free cut out his only leaf! We then traced around the leaf and cut it out. I punched a hole in the top and then strung it through raffia. Then, I hung it across an old window that has my kids pictures in it in the living room! Free, cute, and educational. I also made sure that I wrote each of the kids names on the back, so next year we can remember who did what!
I actually found this idea on another blog, but can't find where for the life of me (I'm sorry to whomever it was, but please contact me & I will gladly credit you!). I am trying out a DIY link blog, check out the button to the right to see what everyone else is doing today!
